What More Mahjong knows about you

You can install More Mahjong and play solo with no account, no email address and no login. If you sign in with Game Center, you get a page and a place at your friends’ tables. This policy says what that means: what stays on your phone, what other players can see, and how to delete it.

What stays on your device

Your hand history, lifetime stats, achievements and settings are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to us, and we cannot read them. Deleting the app deletes them.

Your page

If you sign in with Game Center, the app keeps a page for you in Apple’s iCloud, in a database shared by every More Mahjong player. Your page holds what you choose to put there and what you play:

• the name you choose (your Game Center name until you change it), your @handle, a short bio, your Instagram handle if you add one, and a photo if you add one;
• the styles you play, your record (hands won and played, longest streak, medals — turn “Show my record” off and it is replaced with zeros), your last winning hand, and your daily-challenge results;
• your Game Center player ID, which is how the app knows the page is yours.

Other players can see your page in the app, and anyone can see it on the web at moremahjong.app/@your handle. You can hide it at any time from the You tab.

Tables, invites, follows and results

When you open or plan a table, the app stores its code, style, name, your name as its host, and whether it is open or when it is planned, so the people you play with can see it and join. When you invite someone, follow someone, or play a hand at a shared table or the daily challenge, a small record of that (names, the table code, the result) is stored so the other players’ phones can show it. Following someone is visible to them and on their page’s lists.

Finding friends

Let friends find you is off unless you turn it on. If you do, the phone number or email you type is scrambled on your phone (a one-way hash), and the scrambled code is stored beside your name so a friend who has your number in their contacts can find you. Turning it off deletes it. When you check your contacts, they are read and scrambled on your phone; only the scrambled codes are looked up, they are never stored, and nothing else about your contacts leaves your phone. Game Center friends are shown to you by Apple’s Game Center.

Reports and blocks

If you report a page, a record of the page and the reason is stored. It does not say who you are. We review reports within 24 hours. People you block are kept on your phone and never uploaded.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app records anonymous usage events — which style you played, how many hands, which screens you opened — so we can tell which parts of the game people use. This data is processed by Amplitude, an analytics provider.

• Events are tied to a random identifier made by the analytics library — not to your name, your handle, your Game Center ID or your contacts.
• It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or the vendor identifier, and does not record your IP address, city or carrier. The app does not ask for tracking permission because it does not track you across apps or websites.
• You can turn it off: Settings, then “Share usage data”. It is on by default; switching it off stops collection.

Game Center and notifications

Game Center is optional; solo play and the daily challenge never require it. If you sign in, Apple’s Game Center handles your identity, leaderboard entries and achievements under Apple’s Privacy Policy. At an online table the other players see your name. If you allow notifications, Apple delivers them; the app asks iCloud to tell you when your people open or plan a table, when someone invites you, and when the day’s challenge is dealt. You can turn any of them off in Settings.

Deleting your page and data

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my page and data. It deletes your page, photo, handle, directory entry, tables, invites, follows, reports and results you wrote, and every notification you asked for, and signs this phone out of its page. Some records are written by other players and mention you — their follow of you, their invite to you, your name on their table’s result. To have those removed, write to [email protected] and we will remove them within 30 days. Deleting the app deletes everything on your device.

No ads

There is no advertising in More Mahjong, and therefore no advertising SDKs, no ad networks, and no ad-based profiling.

Purchases

The one-time unlock is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details.

Children

More Mahjong is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has made a page, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what the app collects, the date above will change and the new version will be published here.
